The Stine Family

January 8, 2017

This sweet family I have photographed many times before. I love them! They are so laid back and easy going, just wonderful clients! So, they booked a Christmas mini session this year. They were my very last clients of the evening, and had all of their older kids drive in from college just for the photo shoot. It was a perfect sunset, a perfect evening, a perfect everything…. To top it all off, after the session, they each grabbed a HUGE handful of my props, and blankets, and crates, and just all of my stuff that needed to go back to my car… I remember being just SO thankful for their help! They literally saved me like 5 trips back and forth to my car. So anyway, I go home and upload my SD cards…just like I do after all my sessions. Being a Christmas Mini day, I had 2 that needed to upload. As the first was uploading, I heard a crunch….at first I thought my puppy Aspen had grabbed a chip clip (I was eating pretzels). So I continued vegging out in front of the TV while the first card finished. When I went to grab the 2nd card, I couldn’t feel it. It was right above me on the counter, so panic instantly set in. I remembered the crunch, and just knew right away the horror that had happened. My puppy mangled the card so badly, it was 100% unretrievable. OH my gosh!!! Anyway, this beautiful family’s session was one that got ruined. Yes, the family whose daughters drove all the way in from college. The family who took time out of their night to help me pack up the car. The family who was my biggest of the entire weekend… Oh, I couldn’t believe it!! Well fast forward, I actually made up the pictures you are seeing here on Thanksgiving morning. The girls were back in town from college, and I was willing to do WHATEVER to make it up to this family! Luckily, they own and live on West Ridge Golf Course, so their home made the perfect location for the session. They were such good sports about the whole thing, and were so sweet. Of course the makeup day was FREEZING, but we made it work! That was one of the most embarassing moments of my career thus far…. explaining to my clients how “my dog ate my camera card”. haha Oh my! When I say I am thankful for my amazing clients, I mean it! I am SO thankful! I work with some amazing people and I love my job more than anything in the world.
