Hermus Family // Rachel Kepshire Photography

October 17, 2017

A few months ago, I held a contest on Facebook for a free family session. Rather than nominate yourself, I wanted everyone to really think about a family who could be uplifted by a photography session. In my few short years as a photographer, I have seen first hand how beautiful family photos can really help someone struggling emotionally. Being able to walk through your home and be reminded about all the blessings in your life and those people you love most – there’s something really powerful in that. I love photography and photographs. They document memories that might otherwise be forgotten. Moments that you might not remember in the years to come. Anyways, the Hermus family had such a huge outpouring of love from their friends and family. I had a full inbox of just so many people nominating them for this session. I knew right away they had to have it! Their littlest boy Jacob, who is 9 months old, suffers from a genetic disorder called C.H.A.R.G.E. Syndrome. This affects so many things throughout his little body. He is in desperate need of a thymus transplant. This rare transplant is only performed by one doctor in the entire country. Jacob is on a waiting list, so his family is just trusting in the Lord and praying every day his name gets called soon. This photo session was so sweet, and it was such a joy meeting this sweet family! I was so honored to capture these moments for their family! They need all the prayer they can get, so please take a moment to pray for this sweet family. To follow Jacob’s story more, click on the link here:
